Changing How a City Treats Its Animals
Rescue saves one animal. Education saves generations of them. Alongside our rescue and medical work, TAWF's Outreach Program works on the root cause of animal suffering: how people see and treat the animals around them.
In the Classroom
We visit schools to teach children coexistence, kindness, and what to do when they see an animal in need — including how to reach our rescue helpline. Pamphlets and fun activity books make the lessons stick.
At the Shelter
School groups visit our sanctuary to meet rescued animals face to face — learning about their feelings and needs, and experiencing the unconditional love animals give in return. For many children it's the first time an animal is a friend rather than a threat.
In the Community
During rescues, our teams distribute guidance to bystanders on how to help animals in distress, spreading awareness one neighborhood at a time.
